Incredible amounts of strategic fun. It feels like a spiritual successor to hoplite, though the spells seem awfully limited thus far. the progress system is a really nice way to ramp difficulty up, perhaps unlockable spells or new monster types will be somewhere down the line. -By Frank
I thought Auro might be more of a puzzler than a strategy game, but the deceptively simple design allows for a stunning amount of tactical depth. In addition, the leveling system that matches the difficulty to the player’s skill level is ingenious. -By Alex
At this price Auro is a steal. I can’t even imagine how can you make game mechanics that elegant, but I suppose the long production time and a lot of love come into play somehow. One little note: maybe make the video on this page explain some gameplay. -By Barnaba
This is kind of like unofficial Hoplite 2.0 Same bumping mechanics but with more monsters, spells and terrain. On negative side – no save whatsoever, all *campaign* should be played start to end without exit. Also the documentation is sub par to say the least – there is no even icons for spells in manual! -By Thom
